The GOP will not dump Trump and here is why:

All this talk about the GOP dumping Trump at the convention is a load of nonsense. First, the RNC has already said they do not support it. Just imagine how much MORE foolish they would look and appear to the American people as a party by dumping the person who beat out fifteen or sixteen other candidates to win the most votes and the delegates needed to get nominated. It would send what is left of their party into a massive civil war and tailspin. Trump has a very dedicated base of followers. They would leave with him and do an Indy campaign. It would tear whatever is left the GOP right apart. They would appear to be a party in absolute chaos and tatters.

And who would replace Trump? If they tried to insert Romney or Kasich, the right wing of the party, which is the extreme majority, would go ballistic. They LOVE Trump. LOVE him!! Romney never even ran this year and Kasich finished a very distant third. The right wing would stage a massive revolt.

And so they would have to go with Ted Cruz. And he's just as radical as Trump and would be CRUSHED by Hillary as well.

But think about it. Who would even want to be an INSERTED nominee? Any of those people would have to try to be a "NON-NOMINEE" who just got inserted in and who never won the REAL nomination during the nominating process.

Trump will not quit. NEVER gonna happen. His ego is WAY too "YUGE" for that. He LOVES going to his big rallies, being in the news, on the cover of magazines, being in this limelight. He seriously EATS IT UP. It fuels his massive narcissistic ego. Forget it. He is IN and is STAYING IN.

Nope folks, they are between a rock and hard place stuck with Frankentrump, their self-created monster. Bwahahahahaha...

I do think it would result in chaos, at least in the short term. There are lots of voters who do like him and are ticked at the GOP establishment. Any ' establishment' convention move to dump Trump would really make them angry.

They are doing this because of the downticket candidates who cannot be elected if they support Trump. This gives them an out.

At least that's what I read but who knows?

He can do that from his end.

In their twisted minds everybody wins, that way.

If his ego is no longer being fed, I don't think he will be able to endure it.

Polls are down for him, crowds are smaller, he is being mocked on Twitter, the media is no longer making him the star of every news show.

I think he'll walk away at some point. Hopefully this will happen after the convention and as close to November as possible, just for the maximum disaster effect.

The best course for him would be to drop out and then tell everybody how he would have won except for (fill in favored conspiracy theory here). And he would have been the best president ever, and everybody loved him, and on and on.

But we shall see. It's all very entertaining if you can get past the horror of it all.

This has ALWAYS been about his brand. If he thinks that brand will be hurt in the GE process, he's out. And he's not as stupid as everyone thinks. Oh, I mean, yeah, he knows very little about foreign policy and stuff, but he knows how to build a brand and manipulate the media. I don't think the RNC will have to do much to get him to drop out and then be able to claim he would have been president if not for the stupid Republicans. I don't think he wants the job. He'd have to quit his business stuff and focus just on the presidency. Doesn't seem like what he would want to do.

I also think it shouldn't matter much who the heck the republicans put up - if the candidate agrees with tax cuts for the rich, not raising the minimum wage, no sane gun control, no meaningful immigration reform and complete denial of climate change, they are bad for the country.

It's entertaining as hell as long as those mofos don't get elected.

14. When has looking foolish bothered the RNC or GOP?
Tue Jun 21, 2016, 07:38 AM

I think it would be very difficult for them to replace the top candidate in late July, but that will not stop them from trying.

I don't think anyone could get a campaign off the ground in time to challenge Hillary. But one thing for sure, the GOP does not worry about looking foolish.
