I printed off the credit and will spend it at the store.

That is the sort of reason I hate B&N. They also don't let me check my gift card balance unless I enter the gift card pin anew each time--but they instituted that procedure after I had already been using gift cards sent to me some months earlier--and no longer had them to get the pin off of them, though I'd entered the pin into my online account when I first got them. Since I couldn't check my balance, every time I ordered it was a shot in the dark, and I also could not be sure they were applying my gift card credit, because I never could find out how much I had left.

Using Amazon and buying Kindle books is a much less obnoxious experience than using B&N and buying Nook books.
