(751 posts)2. What does he mean by this?
First, we need to maintain the United States fiscal strength by reforming entitlements. Theres no example of a nation continuing as a great power if its fiscal strength is lost. Anyone, whether Republican or Democrat, who has studied our entitlement programs and can do basic math knows they are unsustainable in their present form. If not fixed soon, they threaten our nation with a debt burden that would undermine the retirement security of young Americans and future generations. It doesnt surprise me when a socialist such as Bernie Sanders sees no need to fix our entitlement programs. But I find it particularly appalling that Trump, a businessman, tells us he wont touch Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

in a sustainable manner. We can't have people counting on something if it won't be viable in a few years.

(4,879 posts)8. I think he and republican buddies mean CUT< CUT< CUT!
Fuck Paulson and the rest. They should have concentrated on pumping money into America's infrastructure, not into the bonus babies down at the banks on Wall Street.

(62,349 posts)6. I heard Larry Summers say on the radio that Trump
Presents too much market and economic uncertainty and he can't support him. He didn't say that he was voting for HRC, though.

(6,551 posts)7. Of course, all the Wall Streeters are going to support Hillary.
So will a lot of big business Republicans that we don't like.
They will support her because the alternative is so detestable.
None of this reflects badly on Hillary. It's simply the consequence of running against an idiot.
