(62,269 posts)I'm sure she'll be calling for closing the tax loopholes any time now.

(24,692 posts)Obamatrade.com kind of ties the far-right perspective on globalism all together.

(62,269 posts)Funny how that works.

(58,785 posts)mostly fine, worthy people (or why would God be showering blessings on them?) who are assisting God's cause in a variety of ways, including funding their ministries and vacations and battling the forces of evil on the left.
And yet... When God's dominion is established here on earth, He will deal with the unrighteous wealthy by relieving them of both their illusions of grandiosity and their wealth, which will be distributed among the humble people. Or something like that. It varies of course.
Funny, all right. The seeming collision of admiration and spite (in some) is interesting.

Refreshed spirit of dominion? Of hegemony? Of domination?
I still cannot believe she earned a journalism degree.

(180 posts)looking for stymied responses about the Brexit vote. It's all about anticipation for the End Times at Rapture Ready, silly me. The Rapture Ready-ites had already re-adjusted the goal posts. Talking themselves through subjective interpretations of the Book of Daniel.
Earlier this week, I was thinking that if Brexit passes, it would really take the wind out of the sails of the apocalyptic prophecy nuts.

(82,383 posts)believed that the EU was the anti-Christ. Couldn't quite figure out how they would base that. But that crowd would definitely see it this way.
My guess was they were afraid the EU would be as big as the US and become as influential and that would be bad for 'Merica.
Wise Child
(180 posts)be the seat of authority for the Anti-Christ, being technical here. Tim LaHaye created a roman-a-clef of Nicolae Ceauşescu, in the form of a fictional UN Secretary General as the Anti-Christ in the Left Behind novels. The United Nations isn't as powerful as the European Union, therefore End Timers have in recent years have been pointing at the EU.
They claim that the Bible talks of a revived Roman Empire, thus the contempt for the European Union.

(82,383 posts)Haven't read those novels, but it would shed an interesting light on their craziness!

(12,448 posts)Everything. They're very good at twisting things to show the Rapture is almost here...no, really, it IS this time! And of course they'll be among the 144,000 sucked into heaven. That's 144,000 out of all the people, living and dead, who were ever born.
As for Palin, her words are already twisted, so they don't have far to go.

(82,383 posts)The UN and the EU are not at all comparable.

(62,269 posts)I'll then maybe believe they're not totally full of shit.
Look at the UK, in Brexit's case, you can damn well guarantee the neoliberals are hoping for Swedish style secretive banking to arise.
