Polls: Teachout, Faso widen leads in NY-19 primary races
Albany Times-Union:
New polls from the 19th Congressional District show that Democrat Zephyr Teachout and Republican John Faso have lengthened their already commanding leads in the Democratic and Republican primary races.
Teachout has opened a 39-point lead over fellow Democrat Will Yandik (62-23), according to a Time Warner Cable News/Siena College poll of likely Democratic primary voters released Monday morning. Faso now leads by 30 points over fellow Republican Andrew Heaney (58-28), the poll of likely GOP primary voters shows.
Both frontrunners have lengthened their leads by nearly 10 points apiece since the last Time Warner Cable News/Siena polls on the race were released earlier this month.
Teachout has opened a whopping 50-point lead in her home region of Dutchess and Ulster counties (68-18). She continues to outpace Yandik, a Columbia County farmer, in the Capital Region portion of the district (Columbia, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer and Schoharie counties), extending her lead here to 22 points.
