Apart from Warren, Brown or Booker, what would your first choice of running mate be?

I'm hoping that Clinton doesn't pick Elizabeth Warren, Sherrod Brown or Corey Booker as running mate, for the obvious reason.

Excluding them (and anyone else with the same drawback), who would your first choice be?

but I want her as a Calif Senator instead.

If she was chosen, we would still get a Democrat in that seat anyways (Loretta Sanchez?)

She'd probably step away from the senate race
Though, I admit, I would wish she would stay in it
I think she'd lose the Senate race and Sanchez would get elected to the Senate
MY worry would be some republikkan would fill the slot if Harris stepped away and some idiotic fluke would happen and we'd get a Republikkan
Also, if Harris won and Sanchez were appointed, we'd be doing the US Senate dance for that seat in 2018.
Just prefer to win and move on

I'm not convinced the best choice of VP is necessarily the best VP.

I'm quite prepared to believe that Warren (or Brown) might be the best VP on offer.

But I'd be very surprised if there wasn't someone else who was close enough to being as good to make them a better choice even so.

Billionaire reality star vs billionaire reality star.

To be honest I don't know much about him except from what I've seen when DH bogarts the TV remote and I have to watch Shark Tank but yeah, he seems like a decent guy and unlike Trump actually is largely a self-made man.

And especially not Elizabeth Warren, who is now more than ever desperately needed on the floor of the Senate.

I would prefer that Hillary surprise us all.

But I agree - I think that in themselves Warren and Brown would both be excellent choices, and I know nothing against Booker, but I hope Clinton can find someone just as good who doesn't give up a senate seat.

Whoever she picks, I trust her judgement. She would never do a McCain and choose someone solely to pander, without properly considering whether he or she could be a good President in the event that the worst happens.

THAT is the most important function of the VP. To be the absolute best person to govern the nation if the President dies. For me, that choice is obviously Elizabeth Warren. But if Secretary Clinton chooses someone else, well, she knows better than I do what the circumstances are. If I didn't trust her judgement, I wouldn't have supported her for my whole life.

I'm quite prepared to believe that the best person to be VP might be either Warren or Brown, and I know nothing against Booker.

But even if so, I'd rather Clinton choose someone who would make a slightly, but only slightly, less good VP without giving up a senate seat.

To be the best choice of VP, they wouldn't just have to be the best person to be VP, they'd have to be enough better than the next best candidate to justify giving up a senate seat. And I think that's a very high hurdle indeed, given how many other at-least-almost-as-good candidates there are.

Biden to me is the best and most obvious choice, if he was willing to take the job. Hillary has promised to continue Obama's policies, so who better to have as a VP than Biden? Plus, Biden is really smart, really decent, and not greedy, so he sort of would be a moral counterweight to Hillary, who at least in terms of personal gain has hardly been a shining example of political integrity.

But we need younger people in these slots
It's why, while I would love to see Warren as the veep, she is nearing 70 herself and part of the reason I oppose her being the pick
The party needs to look toward the future; the Castros are both young and smart. Becerra, Pocan, Harris, etc
