The repudiation of Jeb by Republicans and the embrace of Clinton by Democrats really is huge.

Bush truly damaged them. Over the years here we have often discussed that aspect about Bush. How did he not simply kill the brand? I think we are seeing that he truly did damage them significantly. They came out of his administration floundering and have been doing so since. Their only shining moments have been as the party of no.

They have now foisted an extremely sick man as the face of their party. Instead of assessing where they went wrong they have decided to double down. The end result will simply be a doubling of their disarray and dissension will run amuck. They are in a truly bad spot.

We have voted in mass for and united behind Clinton. We know more about Clinton than any single person in the history of this country. Not only have we formed this bond with her, we have done so with a transparency the like of which we have never seen. We simply know almost all there is to know about her. Not like Jeb where skeletons are still in closets.

This aspect of the primary shouldn't be diminished. The Bush label has been sent packing while the Clinton brand and progressivism continues to rise. I argue we are at a winning point and have been at that point for a while. Even though some of the legislation isn't completely to our liking, polls show our message is winning more and more every year. So difficult considering gerrymandering and republican electioneering.

The Democratic Party is in a great position this election. I have to agree with everyone of your points, NCTraveler. George W. Bush and his administration ripped the base from the establishment by never fulfilling their promises to the base voters. All of the Bush administration's actions benefitted the .1% and they never followed through with the all-important social issues, (mostly because they couldn't).

I love the brutal honesty of this line:
"They have now foisted an extremely sick man as the face of their party."

Any objective analysis of Donald Trump would repulse a healthy, thinking person. What his followers have shown us is how far gone some of our fellow citizens are.

Where even though Jeb was talked about as the "smart one" Dems and Pubs alike pilloried him.
