RNC forced to close online convention chat after anti-Semites turn it into a Jew-bashing hatefest

You can live stream the Republican National Convention on the RNC’s official YouTube page, but you can’t chat about it live anymore.

Why, you ask? Because the Republicans have now disabled the live chat window on the page after it got overrun by anti-Semitic Trump supporters.

As former Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle gave a speech promoting inroads that Republicans have made with Jewish voters, as well as ripping the Democrats for allegedly being more hostile to Israel, Trump’s alt-right followers flooded the page with anti-Semitic vitriol.

Among other things, the Trump fans wrote “Press H for Hitler,” “JOOS,” “BAN JEWS,” “OY GEVALT,” and “KIKE.”

No need for sources, I have seen this before. The hatemongers are pulling out all the stops. One of the reasons Trump is so popular is because he appeals to peoples' bigotries and doesn't make them feel ashamed of it, but rather encourages them to embrace it in "Making America Great Again."

Even more so than Yahoo comments (which, surprisingly, have been cleaned up to a large extent in the past few years, it was way worse before, but it's still bad, mind you).

eventual Trump Presidency, a lot would depend on the make-up of Congress. If Republicans hold the House and Senate, we're totally screwed and a nationwide general strike, while an excellent idea, probably isn't going to happen. This country is much too far from its union roots for any such thing to occur, sadly.

What we'd need to do is do everything possible at a grass roots level to take over the House and Senate in 2018.

I kind of want to suggest that Hillary form what amounts to a shadow government, but that might not be such a hot idea.

Our best hope would be that if Trump were to win, that even the worst of the Republicans would quickly understand how incredibly ill suited to the job he is, and impeach him very quickly. Not that Pence would be a great President, but he'd be marginally better because he at least already understands how the government works.

They'll come for all of us. No one will be spared. He's a "law and order" with supporters who are incredibly angry and stupid. What could go wrong?

There was another politician who got power legally with a small minority of the votes and small group of very passionate followers.

The only example I've heard in regards to a left-wing state (if you want to define it as such) persecuting Jews (more precisely Jewish culture) would be the Soviet Union in Stalin's last years. Whether that was the case or not, anti-Semitism officially remained a crime throughout the history of the USSR, and under Stalin there was an expansion in Yiddish culture in the 1920s and 30s, the establishment of an alternative Jewish homeland in the form of Birodbidzhan, and Soviet recognition and support for the State of Israel upon its founding: https://archive.org/stream/SovietButNotRussian/Soviet%20But%20Not%20Russian#page/n154/mode/1up

She just got fired from her $200K job as "operations manager" for Gov. Bruce Rauner (R-IL Now Has Two-Thirds Of A Budget). During her term as governor of Hawai'i, the repukes lost seats in the legislature in every election, leading to the bizarre Senate leadership contest in which two of the three remaining repukes (out of 25!) ran against each other, only to discover that the deciding vote was out of state and couldn't be found!

That being said, kama'aina (local Hawai'i people, which I was when I took the username; now you know ) seldom if ever engaged in Jew-bashing and are likely appalled at this development. The popular Lingle parlor game was to spin her four long-ago marriages and lengthy stretch of singledom into evidence that she's gay.
