Trump blames Melanias plagiarism on Meredith McIver, who doesnt appear to be a real person
After Donald Trump spent two full days pretending his wife Melania somehow didnt plagiarize her Republican Convention speech even after side by side comparisons had proven it was cribbed from Michelle Obama, he finally laid the blame at the feet of Meredith McIver. Shes a friend of Melania, shes a longtime Trump employee, she used to be a ballerina, and she put out a statement admitting it was her fault. Just one problem: it appears that Meredith McIver may not be a real person.
Joy Ann Reid of MSNBC initially posed the question of whether anyone has ever seen or interviewed Meredith McIver because no one in the media could seem to recall having ever encountered this supposed longtime Trump employee. Her audience began digging and determined that no one by that name works for the Trump campaign, according to FEC filings, which are legally required to be reported honestly.
McIver has no Wikipedia entry despite the claim that she was a professional ballerina. She has pages on the lesser known sites of Everipedia and Speakerpedia, but both page appear to have been created in the last days. She has a Twitter account, but its existedfor less than a day. That Twitter account bizarrely claims that shes not at the convention, even though shes supposedly close friends with Melania and helped write the speech that she delivered at the convention.
The Twitter account does include a picture of a middle aged woman standing with Donald and Melania Trump at a previous red carpet event, and that photo does match the profile picture being used for her new social media pages that have been suddenly popping up since she was named the plagiarism culprit. But there is nothing to suggest that this woman is Meredith McIver, or that Meredith McIver is a real person.

(6,444 posts)7. Ok! Just wish she was interviewed!
The article/link states that, but a ghostwriter could really be a ghost! When it comes to Trump all is possible.

'This'll be a little easier for you. MEREDITH!'
Trump has what some of his employees refer to as an open-door policy; its main function seems to be that he can shout at them through it.
'Would you get me a biography please!'
Meredith McIver, one of the assistants who doubles as his ghost writer, scuttles in with a few sheets of paper, on which a company bio is printed in bold and written in similar fashion: 'A schoolboy's dream ... a competitor's challenge. Donald J Trump is the very definition of the American success story. In August 2006, Mr Trump was voted by the staff and writers of Business Week as one of the Top 10 most competitive business people on the planet.'

(43,173 posts)12. It appears that there is in fact someone named Meredith McIver.
That being said, I highly doubt she's the person responsible for the plagiarism in Michelle Trump's speech.

But I would bet you a Coke that Meredith McIver is richer today than she was last week.

In other words, she's real. Whether she is to blame is another matter. I don't really care.

"I have known Donna Root since 2005 when we worked together speaking throughout the United States. I had the opportunity to work with Donna as well as to hear her speak all over the country. She has a dynamic presence, positive and clear thought provoking program. Donna is passionate about lifting other people up and helping them reach their greatest potential.
