Why doesn't Hillary just wait until Monday - convention day.

At this point the media will have no clue as everyone will be in the building and maybe, just maybe, she will hear the buzz from the crowd that she should pick Warren and do so? Flipping the schedule is nothing but a announcement change

13. Same here. It's almost like knowing the sex of a baby before it's born. Takes the mystery away.

Sure, it's good to plan a baby's room or some for a baby shower, but it removes the mystery and excitement.

It becomes something more like waiting for an ordered package to arrive, instead of receiving a mystery gift.

It also takes away some of the impact.

Just think back on how Sarah Palin's announcement shook the convention and drew all attention away from Obama.

Now, I know it's Sarah Palin, but the right candidate being revealed would completely dominate the convention.

If it's a lame pick, it would deflate the energy... Perhaps that's the reason why it's being announced beforehand.

To give people a few days to get over having a wet noodle selected as Veep.

Then she has the weekend to discuss reasons and then move right into the convention and have media focus for 3 more days.

14. the GOP convention was such a train wreck, it would be a shame to distract from it too soon

especially if she picks someone who adds nothing to the ticket.

15. True. If the selection will act as a depressant, it's best to remove it from the convention.

That seems be the only reason to announce early, because the pick will act as a downer.

If it's someone lame, removing that energy and suspense from the convention would be best.

Give people a few days to digest that the Veep selected is a wet noodle.

If it's a pick that would energize the crowd, it doesn't make sense to announce early.
