http://jackpineradicals.com/boards/topic/crooked-hillary-and-corrupt-kaine/They're now using actual Trump campaign propaganda. "Crooked Hillary" and "Corrupt Kaine" are literally Trump phrases. He literally just tweeted those words.
This isnt cool. We were played. Honestly, its a bit fucked up. We spent years engaging in debate with them, trying to find common ground with them, offering kind words when they were angry or upset, etc. Jeez, I even see names there of people I've actually donated money to when they claimed on DU they fell on hard times. Despite minor policy differences, I thought they were our allies. It was all a sham. And Skinner, EarlG, Elad et al, welcomed them and their views with open arms, as we all did, and this is how they repay us, by ripping off DU with a shitty prototype website used to help Trump win the nomination? They are not progressives, they are bitter angry anarchists, disruptors, cynics, and authoritarian agent provocateurs. How do I know? Because Progressives build, anarchists destroy. I know they arent progressives because ACTUAL progressives (see: Liz Warren, Sherrod Brown, Bernie Sanders, etc.) are actually voting for Hillary. They are just anonymous internet posters who would rather destroy out of vindictiveness than ally with the candidate who has overwhelming support of every marginalized demographic in America. We must stay anchored in optimism. I'm grateful for DU and the open minded pragmatism here.

(10,533 posts)What many DUers probably don't know is that he then went to JPR and posted an apology thread...apologizing for his apology on DU!
And today he's posted a "fuck her, I'm done" thread in response to the Kaine pick.

(10,565 posts)What a few of our former DU posters were up to. It's funny but they are the same miserable folks who used to complain about everything. There are even a few that are still counting on Bernie to win the nomination! It's like a bunch of unhappy campers shaking their fists at the sun because it's too hot. Makes me appreciate DU.

(4,762 posts)They're a tiny irrelevant fringe who never were going to support any common cause, angry ideological purists who literally survive by creating and stoking drama, much like Trump himself does.
Ignore them. They'll shout themselves hoarse the way they used to, with no one listening.

(19,877 posts)As if they were purged from here instead of voluntarily leaving. 99% of them still have accounts here. Its not open minded to run from any debate and resort to an echo chamber.

(14,300 posts)We are not allowed to criticize Democrats lest we be seen as bashing. They might argue that they left DU because it became an echo chamber. So I guess it comes down to whom you want to hang out with.

(19,877 posts)Democrats are a big tent party and offer plenty of varying views. Go over there and say something nice about Democrats and get bounced. My complaint is they are not nor ever have been allies.

(2,720 posts)This site is still where the lefty left of the party congregate. No one should even dare mention here that 58% of Democrats believe that free trade agreements are good for the country.

(4,451 posts)Kaine is not corrupt! I am excited about Hillary and super happy she was able to pick who she wanted and not what someone else wanted. They never intended to vote for Hillary. They just want a reason to rail against her and found something new.

(58,785 posts)As for that nasty little sewer that mostly exists to obsess about DU, why do we care? A whole pack have been banned for coming back and acting out. MIRT has its eyes out for them. Frankly, I'd send them all coupons for free psychiatric consults if I had some because I'm sure some really need them, but that's not possible.

(4,451 posts)Tim Kaine's civil rights experience would win them over but they were gone no matter who was VP.

(58,785 posts)For some their anti-Democrat enmity is part of who they are, a major feature of their ideology, and they can't just shuck it. Of course our happiness at an obviously successful pairing makes them mad. Not wanting Trump doesn't mean they don't also hate that we're going to win again.
Others are just too resentful over real and imagined slights. There is absolutely nothing people on social media, or even neighbors, could do that would affect my vote, no matter how offensive. I vote issues and ideals. But it's very common over there for people to claim they'll never vote Democrat "again" because of the way some faceless people on a forum treated them.
That said, there are people there who are more sensible if still antagonistic, and others who will also come around and vote responsibly enough. They're not all too silly, extremist, and/or malicious to bother with.

Don't like the rhetoric over there? Join and argue.
I don't really believe anybody is who they say they are online.
I know Trump thinks he can attract some Sanders voters.
So it's not such a stretch to imagine paid trump supporters doing their thing over there.
Or maybe some of them really hate Hillary.
The election MIGHT weed out a few of the paid ones if they really are.
Time will tell?
