did the RNC vet Trump at all?

Obviously in general they are incompetent and horrible, but I'm just wondering if they did basic things like make sure he had paid his taxes, wasn't in legal trouble or have weird alliances with foreign leaders?

By all indications, they did none of that.

Anyone can declare he or she wants to run. Other than fulfilling the Constitutional requirement of citizenship, age, and length or residence in the country, there's nothing else a person needs to do. Other than run and win enough primaries and caucuses.

So how in the world was the Donald supposed to have been "vetted"? How would the Republicans have stopped him from running?

Similarly, there were many who thought Hillary should sail through the primary season completely unchallenged, and a lot of people were very unhappy when that didn't happen. Well, once again there's no a priori requirements to run.

that those closest to him are current on their rabies shots. If you ever see tRump carrying a sheet of paper to the podium, don't be tricked into believing it's notes for a speech; it's a list of people he's gonna bite.

there's some real weird politics here that make the DWS-DNC stuff seem like child's play.

They don't dare make demands of Trump.

He vetted them, in his fourth-grade way, and found them wanting.

17. he won because he got most votes . RNC would have had to go against them if they denied him
