(27,891 posts)I think this speech might just be the kick in the pants they need.

(58,785 posts)And we owe Bernie a big one for energizing large numbers who might not have. And even more for reminding us that we really need to demand change, not just hope for it.

(24,347 posts)They're people who hate Hillary Clinton.
Too myopic to understand what is at stake here.

(24,347 posts)To which I reply "Well, when it stops being true, I'll stop saying it".
Staying at home and allowing the guys who don't agree AT ALL with you to win is not how you enact change in this country. Giving up and deciding that the system is just hopelessly rigged against you because you didn't win this one battle is childish.
Do what Bernie says--get your guys elected at the state and local level, because a great deal of the governing that actually affects our everyday lives takes place there.

(989 posts)you are supposed to represent. DWS didn't send any of the awful e-mails and the debate schedule and the super delegate role was established long before Bernie even became a Democrat. If they can boo Bernie and he says nothing to counter that it's on him. These people were and are never going to vote for Hillary so why even bother? Let's move on and embrace the people who are with us.

(47,803 posts)For people who really believe the system is rigged against average people, and that Clinton is the epitome of that, this is not just a fucking game show.
Personally I'm halfway in between -- where Bernie is. Pragmatically accepting the shitty reality of this election.
But people sure as shit should not be demonized for actually caring about this goddamn nation.

(28,270 posts)He waited far to long and let these rat*uckers fester and grow.
He finally did the right thing and I am grateful for that.

(20,709 posts)We lose, and it's on him. Hope he's got something up his sleeve for tonight's speech.
Onlooker
(5,636 posts)... he's walking a bit of a tightrope between those loyal to him, those loyal to his message, and the reality that we need to beat Trump. Bernie won so much support because fundamentally he's the most ethical of politicians. I think he's trying to show empathy for his supporters and at the same time recognizing the requirements of the political reality to defeat Trump.

(37,428 posts)It's called democracy, and, no, it sure ain't pretty sometimes.
We don't have to panic over dissent like they did in Cleveland.
aikoaiko
(34,214 posts)I wouldn't boo Bernie or anyone else who said we must elect HillTim to stop Trump.
I might not be an exuberant cheerleader -- but I'll push the touchscreen button.
