(670 posts)I think that speech and the speech by Anastasia Somoza turned the day around. There were still obnoxious interruptions during Booker's speech, but he was so relentlessly positive that I think it really helped change the mood.
It was certainly a far cry from doomfest 2016 last week. I think it was exactly what was needed. Try to bring back themes of unity and shared struggles and triumphs. The USA has much to work on, but it's not the horror described last week and this was just the right speech to start telling that story. Plus, I was on the treadmill doing a 5 mile run, and his delivery really energized me. I can't thank him enough for that
