We don't want to create a dictatorship. Besides, I am not sure Obama wants to be president for that long.

It won't happen. At my age, there are no guarantees I'll even live to see another election. I just wish we could have had him again for this one.

I speak as one who hasn't been very enthusiatc about anything political after the Kennedys.

... that term would be SIX years. Supposedly, the advantage would be that the president wouldn't have to be distracted about half-way through the first term with fund-raising, campaigning, and defending from challengers (both internal and external) and could instead concentrate on BEING president, instead of perpetually RUNNING a campaign.

My opinion has nothing to do with Obama. I just refuse to believe that we don't have enough highly qualified people of all races, religions, cultures, and gender & preference to lead this country. We need new infusions of ideas and perspectives periodically.
