someone asked what race the person was. someone else why it mattered. Here's what someone said.

@jasonkendziera @CharlotteAlter @joshtpm bc marginalization/microaggressions are real issues for POC, pretend issues for white folks.

Still really wanna be.

It's not a prize. It's something rational people don't want.

Adopting the being of a person who is not able invites sympathy and justifies failure. I can understand that seeming easier than assuming total responsibility for one's experience of life.

Not too harsh - they didn't resort to cops with tasers.

But there are the chants from Hillary supporters, the four days of Stronger Together messaging, the occasional tactic of giving the protesters just enough rope to hang themselves (disrupting Medal of Honor winners doesn't do them any favors), and then giving the push aside pretty much kept the protesting problem under control.

If I were running the DNC, I would have done the same thing. Well played!

I saw that it is applied to different contexts including gender and race. I also imagine one might apply it to any group concept, including sexual orientation, for instance.

It seems to me that the theory of microaggressions might be used to reinforce a personal identity of "victim."

... not something to be punished. This should not be a cause for schadenfreude. I could happen to anyone. Imagine the conflagration burning an effigy of Trump's hair, for example.

That fire caught very quickly. I suspect there was some kind of accelerant involved. Alcohol, perhaps?
