2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMy republican neighbor is voting for Hillary! Because of Obama's speech!
She was going to vote for tRump, until she heard President Obama's speech last night. She was convinced the right thing to do was voting for Hillary. She previously had sworn admittedly to never vote for Hillary. Obama's speech had moved her deeply.
She now is committed to voting for Hillary and says she will be putting a Hillary sign in her yard! No kidding! She said we can never let tRump be elected.

(4,238 posts)has said that there is "no way in hell" she or her husband would ever vote for Trump. I don't know if she'll vote for Hillary, she implied she most likely would skip voting this year. Granted, I'm in California, which won't matter anyway, but there must be so many like her in places like Ohio, Pennsylvania and NC.

I'm concerned with the no-vote action. I am also concerned with the attitude (I've heard it too) that it doesn't matter if or how a person votes in their state.
VOTING MATTERS EVERYWHERE!!!

(22,674 posts)Simply because of lower turnout in mid-terms, so every vote can have the influence of as many as 7 votes. That's voting power and something that 99% of the general public doesn't realize.
