(8,968 posts)Romney, Ryan, McConnell, McCain et al gather to confront the living and breathing death of their party. Sort of a Goldwater shows Nixon the handwriting on the wall in '73 moment. Trump would have to be bought out of course, but I'm sure he could walk away if the "deal" was right.

(8,968 posts)PIxture this. Put them all in the ring: Ryan, Romney, Jeb, Cruz, Carson, Rubio, Fiorina, Kasich, Walker, and of course Pence. It would be brutal. No one would just want to let this newfound prize go to someone else without a fight. Meanwhile, Hillary-Kaine would carry on their campaign like sane people, in marked contrast to the dysfunctional GOP antics.

(34,661 posts)comparables, notice how CBS in a outliar. Is this Viacoms's way of Trump ass kissing? There again,it is all about the sampling and the Q&A of that sample. It these trends increase to the down side for Trump this early, look for the Media to try and create a Horse Race. Heard it mentioned this morning on MSNBC with Alex Witt and she will say what ever management tells her.

(27,742 posts)To the congressional races and Trump will be a pathetic footnote and sideshow.
Wellstone ruled
(34,661 posts)expert guests will point the direction and narrative. Remember, there are millions in Ad revenues at stake and the bean counters run these so called Independent News Organizations.
If all of sudden we see tons of Rethug Congresspersons and Senators popping up as so called guests, then we probably will see a new contrived Horse Race for control of the Senate and House. And that will really be some sideshow.

(102 posts)Costs him a few hundred or thousand more, and almost nothing will bring them back once they abandon him.
I am also convinced, but cannot prove, that close to 10% of those who poll for him won't be able to actually vote for him.

(8,968 posts)I wonder how much further the red line will plunge? The Russian mess he's stepped into might just coax it downward a couple more notches.
