The debates... Oh man, the debates...

I cannot wait to see Trump have to go face to face with the true opponent for the Presidency.

He's going to make himself look like a fool. Seriously.

But I have to say, Hillary needs to be careful. Trumps followers aren't just Republicans campaigning against the Democrat this year... They thoroughly believe Hillary is directly responsible for Benghazi, they are certain that something is going on with her emails and that she should be locked up or in some cases executed. Holy shit.

My concern about this is this... Back when Hillary was debating my main man Bernie, there was the opposition reflected in the crowds. Bernie's fans would boo Hillary and chant for Bernie, as fans are apt to do.

But Trumps fans... Are they even going to let Hillary speak? Are they going to contain themselves at all?

I look at it this way, we Bernie supporters are generally good people. We are passionate and have disagreements but, I'm of the firm belief that all Trump supporters are highly misinformed or batshit crazy.

Disclaimer: For those of you that haven't met me, I'm not a Bernie or Buster. I'm voting Hillary. Shut up now.

the usual protocol is that the audience is only there to observe; they agree to remain silent, and to not manifest approval or disapproval of any kind.

civics and facts, but there is no way he would allow himself to be literally trashed by HRC. I just don't think it will happen..IMO..

5. There'll Be No Cheering during debates...

Trump fans won't be able to disrupt the debate.

As I recall past presidential (Dem vs. GOP) debates, the moderator reminds the crowd that there will be no cheering, boos, shouting, or any other type of crowd reaction during the debate.

There is a an opportunity to applaud and cheer when the candidates are introduced, and again at the end of the debate. Once the first candidate begins his/her opening statement, the crowd is to remain quiet.

I don't know how Trump will manage without his cheering minions. It would not surprise me if he chooses to opt out of the debate, if his crowd is not allowed to his every other word.

This should be interesting.

7. What happens if the audience doesn't cooperate?

That could happen. Do they take a break, evacuate the auditorium and continue?

11. Possible - Loss of Speaking Time

I'm not sure what penalty is applied to the candidate whose fans are uncooperative.

I seem to recall on one debate, though (can't remember when) -- the moderator announced that any disruptions by a candidate's crowd will result in the loss of speaking time for the candidate of the disrupting crowd.

I can recall only one debate when a crowd cheered loudly during a debate - it was Lloyd Bentsen's "Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy" remark to Dan Quayle. The Democrats in the audience roared their approval. When the moderators quieted the crowd, Quayle replied (lamely) "That was completely unnecessary, Senator." Whereupon the GOP crowd cheered. No penalty was threatened or applied.

I hope that the moderators are prepared with penalty measures or some other alternative this time around. This election is the first of its kind. There's no telling what the Trump crazies will do.
