2. His hardcore supporters are unreachable. That being said, he can't win with their votes alone

So I hope more folks start to realize that and focus on voters who are persuadable.

There are some that don't surprise me, but some otherwise cool people seem willing to support him, just because he is seen as counter to political establishment. It's shocking and depressing.

4. The goal is never to dissuade the opposing candidate's supporters

You can't, and you shouldn't waste your time trying (that's rule number one you learn in electoral training). The goal is to persuade the 15% or so of the population that hasn't yet gotten off its behinds to decide. Those people sitting on the fences leaning.

But you're right. They don't care if he lies. They've already made up their minds, and they'll either make excuses for or outright dismiss any facts that might be presented to them. (BTW, this pretty much applies to committed supporters of all candidates.)

Those people are a lost cause. Its about the people who are just now paying attention. Its about the people who sort of support Trump, but can be swayed.

8. I have a cousin who is 100% for Trump. Actually so are her mom and her sister.

They are all extreme fundamentalist Christian types of the Pentecostal-ish persuasion. They were home-schooled in Nowheresville, Nebraska.

Their dad was a closeted gay man (Mexican) who died of AIDS. Their mom tried very hard to convert him to hetero, but amazingly enough that failed. None of them EVER speak of him or acknowledge his existence (I found out all the details from another cousin).

They never stop going on and on about Jesus and God and salvation. And they never express the slightest concern about Benedict Donald's behavior.

9. By now it should be obvious, his supporters don't care about the truth.

If they did, they wouldn't be supporting him.
