Hugh Hewitt on empathy.

Caught a few minutes of HH on MSNBC (out of habit).

My jaw dropped when, in an apparent attempt to explain/excuse Trump's response to the Khan family, he stated that it was hard to empathize with military families unless you are a member of one.

Umm, Hugh - No. It. Is. Not.

wannabes who never got much traction. I guess Ailes' goal of legitimizing every right wing moron in radio-land has been achieved.

4. Trump can't empathize because he hasn't the ability.

Literally. He has to take clues from others about when to pretend to care and what to say, when he feels like it, which for most of his life has been not at all. All of a sudden, every word is a ball in a national sport and he can't catch or throw, much less finesse a pretense.

Wanted to post this , due to the amount of hate radio out there ..... I do not trust Romney .... if he believes what he has said through this campaign like making the speech against DT . Wouldnt he have some sort of say of how these shows are run ....

Thanks to a concerted effort among conservatives, America has been addicted to hate for too long. Like many destructive commodities, as long as “hate sells” its purveyors will never stop peddling it and in 21st Century America nothing sells like hate. Conservatives thrive on peddling hate because it resonates with their increasingly ignorant racist, sexist, and nativist base. In fact, Republicans have benefitted greatly from selling hate and it was that fact that likely prompted Mormon cultist and then aspiring Republican presidential candidate Willard ‘Mitt’ Romney to direct his company, Bain Capital, to buy control of America’s leading hate radio network, Clear Channel. Romney’s intent was to use “his new” hate radio network to curry favor with the hate-addicted Republican base to win the White House in 2012."

"After Romney’s plan to use a media giant he owned failed to win the White House, he directed Bain to implement his now-legendary scam to saddle Clear Channel with incredibly massive “private loans” that Bain and Romney knew in advance the media giant could never repay.

"What started the big rush toward bankruptcy court was a deceptive maneuver by iHeart that the corporation’s creditors’ claim is a violation of their lending agreement by shifting money from one division of the business to another instead of paying toward the debt. Naturally, iHeart Media contends that the lenders are lying and claimed that the illegal asset transfers “constituted a permitted investment under, and fully complied with, our financing agreements.”

Right wingers have so little empathy for anyone who isn't just like them.
