(19,877 posts)GMOs will solve world hunger. As for ADRs, everyone is different. What may not work for you may be a life saving medication to others. Also, isnt it Bernie's money guy Tad Devine who is linked to Monsanto?

(449 posts)Drug companies are able to keep important side effects out of or buried in the black box. They spend billions annually to hide pertinent info and cherry pick what they decide is evidence. Just look at the history of Vioxx.

(19,877 posts)Of life saving drugs and cures. Of course bad apples should be held accountable.
Pharma spends twice as much on marketing as R&D. Most new drugs are created from old drugs or buyouts of start ups or from NIH funding. This is one of the biggest fallacies pharma uses to justify its gross profits.

(110,324 posts)You can't really think that, can you?
The choice is binary. Either you vote for Hillary, despite the fact that she doesn't check off every item on your list. Or you lose your one chance to help stop Trump from becoming the next President of the U.S.- - by voting for the only person who can stop him.
Hillary believes in climate change and wants to save the environment. Don't you?
She wants to raise the minimum wage to $15. Don't you?
She opposes selling off our Federal lands to the highest bidder. Don't you?
She wants to improve on the ACA, not dismantle it. Don't you?
She opposes building a wall to keep the Mexicans out. Don't you?
She supports unions. Don't you?
She supports a woman's right to choose. Don't you?
She supports overturning Citizens vs. United. Don't you?
She will appoint Supreme Court Justices who won't turn the clock back a century or so. Isn't that important to you?
Aren't these reasons enough to vote for her, even if she doesn't have a position that satisfies you on GMO's and the FDA?

How did we get from you wanting to understand Hillary to you calling the ACA a hoax?

(449 posts)I am hospitalized annually and my co-pay is one month's disability plus numerous doctor bills, I really don't care under whose auspices it is administered. I am legally blind so I don't read like I used to....

(100,133 posts)If you are truly on disability and have that much contact with the system, you jolly well do know who administers it.
Periodically we get people writing sad stories about their interactions with the ACA or Medicare and it turns out there is a whole backstory they somehow failed to mention before they got everybody all riled up on their behalf. Some of us are not as readily sympathetic as we used to be.
I'm sorry for your troubles, sincerely, but you started this thread asking about Hillary and then pivoted to the health insurance and health care systems.
Since we are on that subject, it was Hillary Clinton who carried the universal health care plan to the Senate in the early 1990s. She wanted single payer, which seems to be the Holy Grail of health care. But the GOP thrashed her for her pains, and began their 25 year campaign of lies about her.
There. Now you know something about Hillary.

(449 posts)This is not the same party my parents fought for in the sixties, that I campaigned for for decades. This is the party of lesser evils and only SCOTUS compels me to vote dem, the rest I'm afraid is just further conglomeration of wealth and revolving door federal govt for the biggest citizen of all according to SCOTUS, the corporations.
