Hillary and Obama should not pile on the Don to not create sympathy for him

If I were Hillary and Obama, I will let Trump, the media, and surrogates of both sides fight it out as far as his sanity, qualification etc....when the Pres of United States keeps saying "he is unqualified", to some voters that will come across as Obama is trying to dictate who should be President and when Hillary rehashes what Trump did, she will sound like she is piling on ..Trump is already defeating Trump and Hillary and Obama should jut get out of the way ..If I were Obama I would just say something to the effect of "Mr Trump's qualification to be President will be judged by the voters based on his record.."..piling on always helps the underdog, even if that underdog may be evil. My 2 cents

have been demonized.

Let me put it another way: obama is amazing at strategy, more so than any other living politician. He knows exactly what he is doing, and I believe this will be very effective at

- getting Republicans to double down on their stupidity
- cause Trump to become even more unhinged

Thereby demonstrating to main-stream GE voters how awful Republicans are and how untrustworthy Trump is.

I think the president was merely stating what has become blatantly obvious and calling the Rethug Congressional Leaders out. So I think this is more about working on a Dem majority for Hillary. If they don't respond specifically to the President's point, which seems likely, they implicitly assent to it; regardless, they can't deny it without looking like the idiot elitists they really are. And Dems in Congressional races can point to either lack of acknowledgement or acknowledgement to impugn their opponents. It's a no-win for the Repubs. And the fitness of Trump IS the issue in this election, as it needs to be.

Our President is well-placed and highly skilled in this game.

Edit to add that Trump was the one who demanded Obama's college transcripts back in 2012 after demanding the birth certificate in 2008. There is no way in hell that anyone should defend Trump.

He did't do this with Romney in his own re-election campaign. He did just what you suggest, played out the "please proceed" rope. I've actually been impressed with the level of alarm he's showing, and I note that he knows the ins and outs of the job like no one else, except Hillary, who's been there for a long, long time.

They ARE piling on, and I'm glad they are. I truly think under the stress of office Trump might well do something that would cause things we can't imagine. Would the military have to choose to defy an insane command? Would the Justice system have to choose whether to go house to house to rouse undocumented families and send them...somewhere; that still doesn't make sense. Would the US have any credibility if Trump decided to welch on our foreign debts and agreements?

There's never been a threat like Trump. My fondest hope is that he continues what is now being called his "derp spiral."

deserves vigorous debate.

When I read President Obama's statement, as reported on Huffington Post, he was saying that Trump's repeated patterns of behavior violating social norms render him unfit to be President. Obama said he disagreed with Senator McCain and Mitt Romney but he never once doubted either's ability to do the job. That is NOT THE CASE with Trump and the American people need to hear this.

Trump needs to be institutionalized and not in the White House.
