Republicans think Trump might quit — so they’re scrambling to find a replacement: ABC News

Karl said the Republican Party could not force Trump out of the race now that he’s their nominee, but he might solve their problem by dropping out.

“He would have to go out voluntarily, then it would be the 168 members of the RNC, through a complicated process, that would pick a new candidate,” Karl said. “It would have to happen by early September.”

the other day he said it was a waste of his time if he didn't win. He can not stand to be down in the polls.

Even if he quits, his followers will write him in. They are as crazy as him.

It is the worst case scenario for us.

Not that Hillary Clinton couldn't beat someone else, but it would be a **** of a lot easier against Trump.

Is there a deadline where they can't remove him from the ballot, or are thy just afraid if they wait to long they won't be able to sell a new candidate? Those who have already endorsed him wouldn't be able to win, not after accepting all the shit he has said and not standing up to him. Seems like the field would be pretty small, and not likely to beat Hillary anyway. Of course maybe they simply realize even if they can't win, it's better than taking a chance Trump might win.

honest conservative replacement for him will be difficult. Who would want to lead a base like that? They are so hateful and ugly the establishment GOP may go off and start a third party themselves.
