Conservative talk radio host Sean Hannity is fed up with the Republican leadership criticizing Donald Trump and said he plans to blame the GOP establishment if the partys nominee loses on Election Day.
On his Wednesday radio show, Hannity named and shamed House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), along with former primary candidates Jeb Bush, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), as the parties hell blame if Trump loses to Hillary Clinton, but called the election completely winnable.
I have watched these Republicans be more harsh towards Donald Trump than theyve ever been in standing up to Barack Obama and his radical agenda, he said. They did nothing, nothing all these phony votes to repeal and replace ObamaCare, show votes so they can go back and keep their power and get reelected.
"Sorry, you created Donald Trump, all of you because of your ineffectiveness, because of your weakness, your spinelessness, your lack of vision, your inability to fight Obama, Hannity continued. Im getting a little sick and tired of all of you. Honestly, I am tempted to just say I dont support any of you people ever. A fired up Hannity also said he hasnt made up his mind whether he will support Ryans re-election run, a nod to Trump repaying Ryan this week by withholding his primary endorsement.

(30,439 posts)The GOP intellectual leaders like Hannity and Limbaugh will blame the GOP "establishment".
Then GOP primary voters will eat it up and nominate someone even crazier than Trump in 2020.
That nominee will get shellacked again.
Rinse repeat.

turn the base away from the pukes in congress, in their state houses and executives. tRump will do the rest.base adjective
(of a person or a person's actions or feelings) without moral principles; ignoble : the electorate's baser instincts of greed and selfishness | we hope his motives are nothing so base as money.
archaic denoting or befitting a person of low social class.
(of coins or other articles) not made of precious metal : the basest coins in the purse were made in the seventh century ad.
What a team. I don't think I'm being too optimistic in thinking that we can come out in way better shape than we are.

Sure, unless you, of course, disregard the formation of the Tea Party, the explosion in the number of right wing militia, neo-Nazi and white supremacist hate groups, spitting on members of the CBC during the ACA debate, circulating photos of the President and his wife as chimpanzees in watermelon patches, questioning the President's citizenship, dusting up a false controversy about Michelle Obama's arms, calling for "Second Amendment" solutions, shutting down the government more than once, the sequester, having our nation's credit rating downgraded, etc.
Sure, they've NEVER "stood up" to the President.

(12,003 posts)Well, a bit early but you know, here comes the "not conservative enough" argument. With the added twist of the "not conservative enough" establishment being weak and/or corrupt. Good news kids. This is the kind of talk that is going to push the base to the Libertarian party. We might be seeing the national GOP spending another few decades out in the wilderness licking their wounds, as they did after the great depression. Go Hannity!

(7,004 posts)It's healthier for our country for the toadies to admit to a bona fide loss while blaming those GOPers who lucidly and bravely spoke out against Trump than cowardly emphasizing crazy talk of rigging and certain violence. If the latter scenario is not stopped in its tracks, all these media pansies are to blame.
Thank you brave Republicans. History will reward you, at least by noting that you exhibited sanity when it was crucial.
