A day of basement drain back-up/cleaning/weekend rate for a plumber/shitloads of towels to be laundered. Damn tree roots. Last of the towels are finally in the dryer and I'm having wine and doing dinner prep.
Oof, what a day.

(4,024 posts)but our neighbors overgrown tree fell on our brand new roof a couple of months ago, so I have no hugs for some trees. Earlier this year my father had to make the city come and remove a 70 year old tree because the roots were destroying his porch...literally lifting up and breaking it. I'll leave it there but I could tell you another half dozen tree-horror stories endured by family and friends this year. I had to learn a poem in grammar school that went "I think that I shall never see, a poem as lovely as a tree". Fuck off Emily Dickinson.
Have another glass of wine.

(2,902 posts)water is everywhere. If a construction material is easily damaged by water, then it should be against the law to use. Of course since our rulers hate us, they still allow sheetrock to be forced down our throats. Houses around here are a disaster because of their kind.
