I don't want the Green Party or the Libertarian Party to get the 15% required in 5 polls to qualify for the debates. I was not impressed by the Libertarians in their recent Town Hall Meeting on CNN and apparently neither was the Libertarian Party impressed with their performance.
The Libertarians were angry because they said that rather than espousing Libertarian principles, they were too willing to express a 'go along to get along' attitude during the debate by stating that they would appoint members from both sides of the aisles. They were too conciliatory during the Town Hall trying too hard to show that their views were mainstream, common sense principles I guess rather than attacking the candidates from the two major parties.
I saw Stein on C-SPAN and she just seemed to 'borrow' all the ideas in the Democratic Platform and didn't seem to have any new ideas of her own when she wasn't attacking Hillary, and she kept saying that Hillary and Obama hadn't done enough to reduce carbon gases and to 'save our planet'. I guess she didn't realize which party has been in charge for the past 4 years nor did she recognize the fact hat President Obama had convened that Climate Summit and got most of the Free World and some of the Not So Free World to commit to combating climate change. It was the Republicans that were the Debbie Downers on Climate Change and who were unwilling to even acknowledge that the problem exists.
I think that if they make it into the Debates, they will muddy the waters, with no new ideas, and take away from the time where Trump will have to put up or shut up. With only two persons debating, Trump won't be able to hide behind his Know-nothingness, Crooked Hillary crap while generally saying nothing and providing no answers of substance. Also, because the bar has been set so low for Trump, anything that he says that has a subject, a predicate, and appears to have a period will probably be perceived as prophetic. Just as that Republican guy wants Trump to lose badly in November so that there can be no misunderstanding that he was decisively 'whipped', I don't want the lamestream media to be able to parse his words and make believe that his performance was anything but the disaster we expect it to be.

(89,289 posts)If they were serios about issues and getting things done they would put a lot more into local races and try to grow from that.
Instead they just exist to attack democrats during election time with hopes of republicans winning.

(32,046 posts)If I ever saw either Johnson or Stein attack a truly awful sorry assed excuse for a so-called human being like Trump - I might 'fall' for it.
When they only attack Clinton then it is apparent they are just out for themselves/publicity/a pay day.
