Trump doesn't like people (his handlers) in control of what he says and hates to be showcased as a trained seal.

5. Don't kid yourself

Teleprompters are not easy.

I do lots of public speaking about a subject I know well, and I must say I am good at it. But only, and I mean only, when using an outline.

If you ask me to read a speech, it is out the window. I have tried it both live and in a studio. It took about 3 minutes before the producers told me to just do what I do.

I am not smart/quick/gifted enough to read a speech and make it sound authentic. Neither is Trump.
