2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI seriously don't think I can take another day of this awful election.
And when I say awful, I am ONLY talking about Trump, his supporters, and the rest of the horrible Republican mob.
I am SICK of hearing ANYTHING they have to say. NOTHING is serious. The Trump thing is a sham, and I ask myself daily HOW this can be worse than 2000, but it is. The candidate is worse-- far worse. And the base? Stupider, meaner and more belligerent in every way.
It's like a nauseating ride you want to get off of. I wish the election were tomorrow so we could just get on with our business and send that shit clown packing.

I hope Hillary crushes him on Election Day.

(236 posts)Every single day I think that Trump has finally crossed the line into the indefensible, and every single day I am wrong.
What is wrong with people who actually think he should be our leader?

(18,672 posts)Assange, along with Alex Jones are going to release such utter sh*t about Hillary because they have nothing else. They know Trump's supporters will lap up anything, and are hoping the general public (read: sane public) will too. There is no bar. Trump will say and do anything to win this, even though he could care less about the office itself. It's winning, and it's the title and the business deals he believes will be open to him that he wants, and he'll drag down this country trying to do it.
I'm so unbelievably angry and disgusted that this vile abomination is being propped up by a vile party and media. I don't know how we can come back from this. I hope the entire Republican party never recovers.

(22,897 posts)only I find that logging into DU first thing in the morning has become a habit. I'm trying to balance my "need to know" with some perspective, since I'm finding this whole mess (namely drumpf) very stressful. I remind myself we still have three months to go and that I need to pace myself. So far, it's been hard to do, though.

(4,150 posts)I do the same thing every morning. I open the NYT online in one window and then greedily switch back and forth to read all this garbage about Trump.
And as somebody posted above, how do we as a country come back from this abyss? Trump's base isn't going to change, and they're only going to get worse.

(42,770 posts)crazy thing, all agreeing, no change, boredom - this election has been the best ever. For a political junkie - this is heaven. And, to witness this utter demise, equally entertaining.

(65,616 posts)Been waiting for this day to come, the day they eat their own shit and are forced to just smile and keep eating!
However, due to recent events. Trump saying what he did, I really am worried about HRC's security. Don called her out like a Russian mafia don. Is Don a Don or is he done?
I would like to say stick a fork in him, but the media might just try and keep him on life support. Maybe read a book or watch the Olympics and stay away from the toxic stuff...it is very disturbing on a lot of levels. I agree completely in some ways.

(42,770 posts)boredom and predictability to insane anarchy. And all it took was one person to do it - Trump.
Russian Mafia Don - Perfect analogy.

(12,814 posts)Whenever they leave a mess (à la Dubya) or lose an election (à la Dole, McCain, Romney), what's the post-game conclusion of Republicans?
"Well, he wasn't a REAL conservative" or "Obviously, he wasn't conservative ENOUGH!"
Yeeeah, THAT's the problem with your candidates, GOP. Nailed it!

(68,576 posts)after years of hate speech on every level...Frankentrump. And in all the movies...Frankenstein destroys his creator...in this case the GOP have at it Frankentrump...they have it coming...hehe. That being said I do believe Trump is dangerous. What he said about assassination Sec. Clinton is dangerous and shows how unbalanced he is in all ways.
