2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAre we beginning to see a lot more anti-Hillary & anti-DEM grumbling lately?
Here on DU?
Maybe its just me but snark is becoming noticed.
New Rules still apply right?
Just pointing out the obvious today.
Thanks

(9,148 posts)The goal is the Supreme Court. Without that there will be nothing left to work for nor fight over.

(2,542 posts)The Terms of Service prevent them from being as hateful as they want to be here, but they're not quite comfortable with the pure deranged insanity of what the splinter site JPR has become.

(4,035 posts)It's interesting to see which prolific posters haven't accepted the ToS here, yet post on JPR. They claim DU's ToS is forcing opinions on them, yet on JPR you weren't even allowed to acknowledge that Sanders was losing without claiming the primary was rigged, and you're banned for objecting to misogynistic slurs used on Clinton.
(It is also interesting to see posters here who claim to support the Democratic Party and its candidates, but who proudly have Jill Stein banners in their sig lines there.)
BobbyDrake
(2,542 posts)they don't like or agree with.
They might as well make their motto "ditto" like their Rush-head counterparts and be done with it.

(27,787 posts)Hillary is kicking ass, Trump is losing his mind, and some are not happy about it.
They need trump to win so they can say "we told you so."
And it doesn't look like that's gonna happen.

(50,993 posts)proven right, and they would be able to dance some deranged victory dance if we lost.
Foresight has never been their strong suit.

(4,451 posts)that is the problem for them.. They hate her so much they want to see her lose and are disgruntled when she rises. Makes me love Hillary more. Revenge by success!

(9,148 posts)Trump, social media hate fest 24/7, all looked like fools with their manley bully antics.
While Hillary methodically went about her business of meeting people on a personal level, head held high with confidence in her own achievments, simply walking her campaign to where she is today.
The fact that she strode past every demon and batted away the fires of hell they lobbed her way tells us she is absolutely ready to lead this nation.
She will serve us well & with honor.

(28,342 posts)the puritopian paradise they imagined.
I've also noticed an influx of several recent and low-post-count DU'ers who are remarkably familiar with DU history, given the brevity of their experience here.

(25,598 posts)Seeing words like "coronation" and even referring to Clinton as "Herself," which is pure JPR. Things I thought had to be hidden weren't. They're going to try to ruin DU again. This is why we can't have nice things.

(2,542 posts)The terms of service are once again worthless and being ignored by juries.

(2,029 posts)Recent posts decrying how our gallant opponents had been driven off the boards by Hillary supporters made me wonder if their browsers had been hijacked. I'd elaborate but I'll try to observe the ToS.

(4,640 posts)concern trolling, lotta snark, and I expect the closer we get to November, the worse it's going to get with some of 'em.
NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)It's enough to notice and to make this smell like a sour dish sponge, but often it's not blatant enough for a jury to do much about it. About a 50/50 split, I'd guess.
You know, I bet that it's more satisfying for them do such things in an environment where a reaction is more likely to occur. I'm sure it's not nearly as rewarding to make similar grumbling posts over "there" and have a half-dozen posts in agreement. I think that's why DWS is being targeted, and Stein is being defended.
Oh well. Try to ignore them. We've got an election to win.

There are concern trolls, posters linking to radical left sites claiming we started the Turkey Coup...wtf.

(356 posts)But unfortunately I am a bit of a knuckle dragger of a dem. I really was a bit profane, but the profanity was in reference to a well known comedian. I am afraid such nuances (such as they were) were lost on our esteemed moderators. But it is what it is I guess. Hillary is my pick no matter what and if someone suggests that an also ran is somehow better than our nominee then I sometimes feel compelled to make rather colorful suggestions as to what objects should be inserted into the various orifices of the opponent. Not nice, I know. But I am a democratic partisan. Riding the coattails of our nominee goes no where with me.

(1,499 posts)Coming from both former camps.
I, for one, am over posts from Hillary group regulars about the Sander's new home or using Jill (call me "fraud" because I am NO PROGRESSIVE) Stein as an excuse for the "purist" swipes at Bernie's supporters.
But I am MORE over posts using provocative terms for Secretary Clinton, bringing up right wing talking points about emails or the Clinton Foundation (as if it proves Bernie was a better candidate), defending that scumbag Assange, etc. because SECRETARY CLINTON IS OUR CANDIDATE and when you tear her down you tear all of us down.
There is a battle for the heart of the party. That's for sure. But that battle is not something to fight now.
We have the possibility of not just putting Hillary Clinton in the White House, but of taking both houses of Congress and shaping the Supreme Court for two generations.
