Clinton hobnobs with Paul McCartney, who happened to be in Cleveland, too
CLEVELAND While here for a campaign appearance on Wednesday, Hillary Clinton diverted from her schedule to meet with someone whom she has credited with helping her get through some angst-ridden days as a college student: Sir Paul McCartney.
After the Democratic presidential nominee headlined a rally at a local high school, her motorcade pulled into Quicken Loans Arena downtown the site of last month's Republican National Convention where the former Beatle was scheduled to play a concert Wednesday night.

McCartney greeted Clinton backstage, where they talked privately for about 30 minutes, according to an aide. Topics were said to include the presidential race, their families and the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, with Clinton offering McCartney congratulations for a strong performance by the British delegation. Reporters were not permitted to see the meeting.
Clinton, who enrolled in Wellesley College in 1965, told Fox News in 2009 that she had turned to the Beatles for more than just music during those days. As I went through my angst period and struggled with the challenges of living in the real world, the more existential message struck home, Clinton said during the interview, conducted while she was secretary of state.
