I really like Robby Mook, (hey, he's a Vermonter) but this was just shark jumping

And I don't care for all the anti-Russia animus being stirred up. Tensions are bad enough. Let's not fall back into old ways.

Clinton campaign manager suggests Donald Trump may be a 'puppet for the Kremlin'

Yeah, I'm new to posting...been reading a few years.

I read all the fanfare: Cali come back...people welcoming you back openly, warmly even.

But all your post topics seem geared to stirring up pissing matches and throwing insults.

You may be relatively new to posting, SticksnStones, but your post reflects what a lot of us have thought, and some have said.

The pattern for this type of OP is: "I like _____" BUT "I think ______ is a mistake"

And when people are called out on nitpicking, insulting posts, we're accused of blindly worshipping and refusing to acknowledge flaws! Everyone knows all candidates have some flaws, it doesn't need to be endlessly said.

Thanks for posting, SnS

IF Trump has close ties with Russia and owes their banks money (as reported), it's hard to not use that information against him.

While I don't disagree with that tactic, there's a fine line where it can turn into anti-Russia rhetoric. Mook needs to be cognizant of that.

Putin is a dictatorial demagogue and rules with an iron fist. He propagandizes our extreme left through RT and Sputnik, dragging them into his insipid plots to overthrow Europe.

and he's not off base on the issues about Putin. He did misstate the name of the periodical (It's Russia Today, or "RT", not Russian Times). But if anything he understated the danger /outrageousness of Michael Flynn (a retired US lieutenant general who dined, along with Jill Stein, at Putin's table for the RT anniversary, who has been giving highly critical speeches about Obama and Hillary Clinton in Russia, who, as Trump's chief foreign policy advisor, and despite his ties to Putin, is being included with Trump in the foreign policy briefings. Just jaw-dropping.

Most notably, Mook states in that video:

1. Trump is financially tied to Russian oligarchs for debt financing -- and his businesses are $650 million in debt--yet he refuses to disclose his financial ties or his taxes.

2. Trump parrots Putin in his remarks in bashing NATO and changing the GOP platform to delete support of Ukraine as it is being slowly swallowed by Putin.

3. The man Trump brought to his first classified national security briefing last week with him is on the payroll of Putin's propaganda arm, RT, and was sitting just two seats away from Putin at it's tenth anniversary gala.

But I am sure you have already posted concern posts about those three things.

We are not being fooled, at least those of us paying attention. Donald thinks he's the deal maker, but he's been made. If we just pass this off as some conspiracy theory, we truly have lost the ability to see the forest for the trees. I'm glad he spoke of it and I want it kept in the political conversation. That interview was spot on.

I completely get your reaction -- as this really is an incredible attack. A major party nominee with extensive ties to Russia, who has favorably compared the former KGB leader Putin to Obama repeatedly.

For anyone of either of our ages, this is absolutely stunning. It should be documented and great care should be taken not to go 1 centimeter over what is provable. If that is done and this information becomes available and was believed, I would guess that Trump's numbers on all of us who lived through the cold war -- especially the generation that came of age in WWII -- would look like his numbers with the youngest voters!

Remember that the Republicans tried to make an issue of Bill Clinton, as a Rhodes scholar at Oxford, visiting Russia!

This IS a real issue. We really do NOT know what Trump's foreign policy will be or who he will really listen to. One thing that is clear is he has an admiration of authoritarian dictators that is unprecedented in ANY former nominee of a major party.

Based on what we've seen with Manafort and his Russia connections, Michael Flynn dining with Putin, Trump's pro-Russia intervention in the GOP platform, Trump calling on Russian intelligence to do more hacking against the Clinton campaign, Trump suggesting we abandon our NATO allies unless they pay up, etc. etc., this a 100% legitimate concern and I'm glad our side is addressing it head-on. I'm actually surprised you had any problem whatsoever with what he said. It's Trump who's jumped the shark playing footsie with Putin, not Robbie Mook. Not to mention, this isn't 1/10th of what the Pukes would do if the roles were reversed.
