and spend less time and money attacking Trump. Trump just will continue to lie and put Hillary and the Dems on the defensive based on lies.
Trump is the nominee of the Repug Party. Why not attack the Repug Party and all of their platforms, resistance and gridlock that they have used. Point out under who's leadership 9/11 happened. Who started the wars in the ME. Who crashed our economy. Who won't rebuild the infrastructure. Who is for cutting back all social programs.
If - as Trump says - we have a corrupt government - make sure the American People are reminded that the Repugs were very much a part of that government.
Take them on and associate Trump with the Party. Make Trump defend the Repug Party.

(146,262 posts)how to run her campaign. In her speech today, she's laying into Trump and his lies.
Maybe she and her advisers have a better handle on this than DUers do. I suspect so, based on the polling trends.
I think I'll just watch her go through the rest of the campaign. She seems to be doing OK.

(41,936 posts)It needs to be all right to hate Trump and to really reach "across the aisle" against his horrorshow. I'll take every Republican vote we can get.

(25,225 posts)the Hispanics and the Blacks - that we begin to lose the edge with them and see them gravitate to Trump.
We need to make sure that the Hispanics, Blacks, the poor, students, the elderly all know that it wasn't the Dems and Hillary that cast their lot in life that it was the Repugs and their platform, stances, resistance and gridlock that has created the issues that the Dems want to turn around.
With all the free TV time that the MSM is giving Trump - and his driving home his new messaging - I'm worried that we will lose more votes by his appeal to these voting blocks versus picking up disgruntled Repugs that hate Trump to vote for Hillary.
I agree it's a very fine line or tightrope that she needs to walk - but a lot is at stake in November and I want a Dem President in office.

(68,469 posts)Remember when president Kerry was attacked and attacked and took the high road and discussed issues... you know Pres. Kerry... Oh wait, that strategy lost him the election. Personally, I would not 'advise'( if that is what you call it) Sec. Clinton. She is doing just fine.

(4,533 posts)We can't persuade Repubs that Repubs suck. But we can persuade them that Trump sucks. And if they believe that then they won't vote. Presidential year turnout is much higher than off year turnout because they really care about who is President. A lot of these people don't know who their senator and representative are and won't come out just to vote for them. Give them no one to vote for for President and they will stay home. And Dems will sweep. The best strategy to win down ballot races is to focus on driving Trump into the ground.
The Dems strategists know this and Hillary knows this. That's why she isn't blasting Repubs in general. She knows that attacking Repubs as a whole will only make more of them mad enough at her to come out to vote against her. Better to just let them not be mad at her so they stay home.
Think people.

(9,148 posts)I'd feel totally stupid advising her. She just ripped apart her opponant's nest of white supremacy and that took more confidence and leadership smarts than any mere mortal has to offer.
I'll Trust Her to lead this country.
