Kellyanne Conway: ‘Rape would not exist’ if women were strong enough

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway argued in 2013 that “rape would not exist” if women had the same physical strength as men.

Objecting to women in combat, she said:
“Women are already making incredible contributions to the United Sates military and will continue to do so,” she opined. “But the military’s first and primary mission is to win wars and to be as completely as capable and efficient and uber-ready as it can be. But we also don’t want to put our women in harm’s way.”

After panel members pointed out that women who pass the physical exam should have the same rights as men, Conway brought up the topic of rape unprompted.

“But I’ll tell you,” Conway added. “If we were physiologically — not mentally, emotionally, professionally — equal to men, if we were physiologically as strong as men, rape would not exist. You would be able to defend yourself and fight him off.”

And she's supposed to be the sensible member of his campaign.

A lot of thew other "pretty face supporters" who are employed to speak for Don the Con ARRE just dumb, but Kellyann is not. I'm actually and quite surprised that she even said that. She DOES have her hands full trying to smoothe out Dons stupid talk and this one I think got away from her.

And yet I've never once felt the urge to put any part of my body on or into somebody who wasn't willing. Just because I'm physically capable of forcing somebody, doesn't actually make me feel it's my right to do so.

As others mentioned, "date" rape drugs, people who drank too much even of their own volition to consent, a person in a nursing home, somebody who is developmentally challenged, multiple attackers, somebody sneaks up behind you and clobbers you with a brick, an attacker who is a trained fighter, an attacker with a weapon, the presence of children/somebody who might get hurt in a fight situation, hell I was pretty damn helpless after my last knee surgery where a small child could have kicked the crutch out and down I would have gone there are a lot of cases where just being physically equally strong wouldn't prevent a rape.

Not being a rapist prevents rapes. And best of all, it's easy. All you have to do is well, not do something.

Is probably one of the most insipid women I have ever seen. As a smart, strong woman, I am embarrassed for her because she obviously doesn't understand what being a smart, strong woman is all about. Good God almighty she didn't get her job because of her intelligence.

Most of them could kick Trump's ass, and those of his sons as well.

Women who can pass the tests of the military, and are properly trained, can be and are just as capable as men with military challenges.

I assumed it was akin to Donald Jr's comment that ivanka wouldn't be subjected to sexual harassment because she is a strong woman... That of something bad happens to a woman, it's her own fault for not being strong enough.

And certainly not the women women who are properly trained in the martial arts.

Remember that most women in the army are in noncombat roles.

This discussion of this thread is about by whether women should be allowed to serve in combat. The rape remark was intended to indicate women are not capable of defending themselves, and therefore certainly not capable of defending their country.

Men might be more likely to rape a drunk woman at a party than risk raping a farmer's daughter who is protected by shotguns, for example.

It would probably also diminish if men carried the babies. Men have less of a physical investment in reproduction. They can squirt and be on their way if they're a-holes.
