Related: About this forumTrump, Pence, and Flynn are Unpatriotic
For these guys to admire dictator Putin more than our own democratically elected President is shameful. Trump, Pence and Flynn do not understand our constitution, and seem to favor dictatorship. Flynn is a disgrace to our military and this country. Pence is just a pathetic stooge. Trump is a scary, orange clown. Perhaps all three should move to Russia where they can serve their hero, Putin.

(898 posts)It is a disgrace. These guys would gladly rip up the constitution and turn the country into an authoritarian state simply to "take their country back"...meaning take it back from true constitutionalists. If only Orwell were alive to cover this election.
I wish someone would ask, "Given your public statements about Vladimir Putin, your financial connections and your appearances on state-run RT, should Americans not wonder where your loyalties really lie?"

(9,688 posts)They are all outrageous. OK, I'll just say it: they - Trump and Flynn especially - are traitors. The prospect of Trump and Flynn getting intel briefings is downright scary.

(7,299 posts)would assassinate their careers. Four years ago Republicans were outraged (sarcasm) that President Obama called Russia a regional threat instead of the geopolitical threat that Romney was claiming. Today, Republicans outwardly admire Putin's Russia and it doesn't seem to even raise a national eyebrow. I've never been as concerned for my country as I am today.

(4,558 posts)IMO.. too many of our own surrogates are focusing on getting out our own message, and our own talking points.
We need to focus the attacks using their own talking points to really drive it home and damage his turnout numbers.
These aren't things that we Democrats/liberals/progressives care about, but it is something their supporters do:
Patriotism: He's supported by N. Korea and Russia. Do we really want a president with such close ties?
Family values: Do they want a famously known womanizer and cheater? Do they want a President that is known for his casino's and strip clubs?
Sanctity of marriage: Multiple divorces vs life long committed marriage to a single person.
Fiscal conservatism: Bankrupted numerous companies, has personally filed multiple times, cheated businesses, and ruined the financial lives of working middle class Americans. Moved much of his own business to foreign soil.
Taking the approach of engaging them with their own stances on issues has met with some success in my own circles. I now have 3 people who are life long republican voters outright and openly supporting Hillary (even if they still despise her personally), and numerous others who, even if they aren't pro-Hillary now, are opposed to voting for trump (some are pledged not to vote for the POTUS at all, others have switched to Johnson..)
When dealing with them.. don't sell Hillary on the things we believe in.. Sell her on the things they believe in.

(1,074 posts)The Dixie Chicks get crucified by the right-wingers for what they said about Bush, but Trump, A US PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE, can say what he said about Putin and Obama, and where is republican outrage??! Not only is there no outrage, but some actually agree with what trump said! This election is really depressing me!!

(82,383 posts)Strong leader bullshit. WE THE PEOPLE elect someone to run the executive branch of the federal government and that's just one election. We have an entire system of checks and balances and we do not want a "strong" leader in any of them. They represent us, they don't lead us.
