2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI believe Trump, in his hubris, made a critical error today
Just like when he was up in the polls following the GOP convention, he got cocky.
Just like when he attacked the Khan family and plummeted in the polls, he stooped to a new low today and infuriated correct-thinking individuals again.
And the veil has been removed from the media's eyes as well. The double standard in coverage is now gone.
"Grading on a curve" is now gone too.
You won't see it in the polls until 5 to 7 days from now, but you'll see it.

(131,231 posts)he gets cocky and more arrogant than usual and goes off his campaign's script. And that's when he starts getting particularly deplorable. I think he might have stepped very hard on his tiny dick this time.

(2,897 posts)I just watched MSNBC cut off a Trump surrogate to play a highlight real of Donald being a birther and she tried to pass off his statement as an apology.

They all hate trump, but few will vote for Hillary. I know. I ask them. They mistrust and dislike her. It is a serious problem when 60% of voters feel like that. Of those who support her, several measures have found that support to be tepid.
While trump also had big negatives, his supporters are vocal, energized and will never turn away from him, even if he is found bedding his daughter.

(4,661 posts)... the ratings were thru the roof (evidenced by how many HERE were watching, for example). So the networks are ecstatic. I'll let you deduce who wins that tug o' war.

Whiskeytide
(4,661 posts)... is good for ratings. Trump is good for ratings, and he will be propped up by the people who control the media as long as that's the case.

(10,252 posts)I'm not so certain about that. Much of the MSmedia are gossip whores by nature. Bad habits, including fawning over celebrity politicians, and being seduced by the glorification of immoral behavior, ain't so easy to break.

(28,136 posts)24 hours from now it'll be some other distraction for them to get ratings.
It's how they roll.

(1,665 posts)But will wait to see just what the media does. I'm sure Trump and surrogates will find some way to weasel word their way out of this and the media will be back criticizing Hillary over some stupid thing.

(2,404 posts)A Transparent view of his business dealings. Who he deals with and each country he has business dealings with.
A comprehensive plan from Trump and his family on how they will deal with his business if he is elected.
And Tax returns. This should be on negotioable. Release them. This should be made an issue of every day till the election or until they are seen.
The tax return issue should be Trump's 'birth certificate' issue.
And keep up the pressure. This is Trump's weak spot.
