(18,671 posts)due to his health issues, but he used his family connections to get in, not avoid service. And he became a hero, and was one of our most revered Presidents.
On the other hand, Trump, the vile POS insults our military, POW's and continually weaseled his way out of service. He has earned my contempt. He is one of the most rotten human beings I've ever witnessed. He makes me physically ill, but then again, he has since I first heard of him decades ago. Never could stand this horrible, heinous man and I hope there is karma and it bites him right in his lumpy bum.

(48,959 posts)This ad shows Trump's impact on real people. Straight up and sophisticated at the same time.
It doesn't use that monochrome fright montage so common. It doesn't use that heavy doom music that is also so common.

(58,785 posts)fine service once again for his country. How could anyone not be affected by his dignity and conviction, and the power of his memories 70 years later? He had me in tears.
One thing I love about these ads is that although they are attack ads, yes, they are much more. They all push themes of decency, responsibility, respect, honor. Of course Trump has given extremely generously to the cause, but there is no sign, for instance, of the usual snide voice pushing the message home of the typical hit ad.
Instead, these ads all contrast Trump's behavior with a call to the better natures of the viewers, their duty to be role models for their children, to respect our veterans' service and sacrifices, their ability to be moved by simple dignity and honor.
This is Hillary's imprint we are seeing here. The big difference in these ads isn't Trump, it's the woman's focus.

(2,035 posts)Thank you for posting this here. If people see this add and still can vote for tRump, then I have to question if they understand the sacrifices that have been made for them to even have the opportunity to cast a vote.
To Mr. Sollender, I am eternally grateful for your service in 1944 and again in 2016.

(6,994 posts)Sad to say What ever Donald Trump says or does there are thousands of voters out there that will vote for him because he has
an "R" in front of his name and yes that would probably include many Veterans.
I remember a couple days ago seeing Medal of Honor recipients endorse Trump and that was a sad day and a dishonor to Veterans.

Anyone who votes for Trump carries his awfulness with them.
Prisoner_Number_Six
(15,676 posts)Sure, at the beginning they showed him talking, but nowhere in the ad was he referred to as anything other than "him".
Nothing more is necessary.
That's a great approach. From now on he should be depersonalized completely. Never refer to him by anything other than "him". Lower case. The one thing a narcissist cannot abide is to not be acknowledged. The thing most precious to them is their name. Take that away from them and they become insignificant. They become a naked emperor. They become nothing.

(31,133 posts)I get it. But Madam Secretary better start building up her own brand, and quickly.
Enough with the negative advertising. Tell everyone what she believes in. Her values. Build authenticity (important). Explain how dems make the nation better. Make people feel good about her.

around December 15, 1944.
I'm torn.
On one hand, I'm glad he's not around to see this travesty called TrumpleThinSkin spit on men like him and Sollender (and McCain) for what they went through.
OTOH, if he were still around, this ad would have sent him over the edge, if he were not already pissed off at that clown long before.

(1,103 posts)I've about seen enough of Hillary Clinton-bashing-Trump commercials. He deserves all the criticism that can be dished out. What We the People deserve is a statement once in awhile about what Hillary believes in. She can start with the progressive agenda in the platform the Dems passed at the convention. I have heard total silence. How come? Was that all just rhetoric to get nominated? Bernie can't enthuse his followers to support Hilary if she doesn't give them a reason ----- and talking about Trump is not going to do the job.

The majority of Bernie supporters will vote for Hillary. The hardcore left who went over to Jill Stein (4%) are not going to be convinced to vote for HRC by a television ad.
