TEXAS UPDATE: Big Clinton Lead in Harris Co, Kaine Rally in Houston and New Offices Across the State

http://www.hillaryhq.com/2016/09/texas-update-big-clinton-lead-in-harris.html?m=1

Snip

..And today we have more indications that the Lone Star State might really be in play.

Harris County, which includes Houston and extensive suburbs, is by far the most populous in the state. So if Clinton has a shot at winning Texas, she must run up the score here...and a new poll is showing just that.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has a comfortable 10-point lead over her Republican rival, Donald Trump, among registered voters in Harris County, according to a new poll released Thursday.

The survey from the University of Houston’s Hobby School of Public Affairs showed Clinton winning 42 percent support to Trump’s 32 percent. Nine percent of respondents said they back Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party candidate, while 2 percent said they support Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
...

Should Clinton carry the county with a double-digit margin, it would mark the widest margin of victory for a Democratic candidate in Harris County since 1964.
Harris County, the third largest in the nation, long has been a competitive county during presidential election years.
In 2012, President Barack Obama beat Republican challenger Mitt Romney there by nearly 600 votes. Obama edged out GOP nominee John McCain in 2008 by just under 2 percentage points, 50.4 percent to 48.8 percent.

1964? Sure, an LBJ-style landslide would be great right about now!

But just as we saw in last week's statewide poll, it's all about turnout:

And what better way to boost turnout than to have a rally? And look...that's exactly what's happening tomorrow in Houston!

THANKS HOUSTON..BLUE TEXAS!!!

This flag was designed by Captain William Scott in 1835. It was used by those Texans who favored independence from Mexico. It was carried into the Battle of Concepción by James McGahey on October 28, 1835

Latino vote is polling 82%/Hillary with the remainder divided between Trump, Johnson & Stein.
And THAT is a huge voter bloc here in Tx.

I have a feeling this will be the year Tx regains its Blue status. The Republican Party will be devastated without Texas.
Next up..get rid of Abbot & Paxton & that nasty corrupt nest in Austin.
Amen.

I'm sure the NRA will be rolling out the 2nd Amendment token election ace card soon..tho it may be effective for some die hards, it will not be enough.

the first time they've endorsed a Democrat in 70+ years.

Also Trump campaigned in Houston last week iirc.

Obviously, TX is a deep red state, and turning it blue is still an uphill battle.

Wouldn't that be the coup de grace if we could flip TX, wow.

He's been getting a shit load of free media for the past year and a half from all the antics pulled.

The corporate media are whores for ratings and Trump is a hell of a pimp when it comes to them.

It's the burbs and rural areas that are deep red. Austin, Houston, DFW, San Antonio, El Paso and all of South Texas are at least light blue. We just need to work on voter registration and GOTV in the cities to turn them darker blue.

as I understand that demographics do not favor them. A normal person or party would conclude the necessity of change but no, they are running right off the cliff. It may not happen this time, but that blessed moment is just around the corner, and I CANNOT wait to see TX in the blue column. Once it happens, TX will remain blue. For those of you as old as I am, you will remember the days when California was reliably in the red column.

I did see my first Presidential lawn sign this year and it was for Hillary. What I found interesting was that it was in a subdivision full of McMansions and the only other signs I've seen so far are for someone running for school board.

Now I know that this probably doesn't mean much in the overall picture of politics in this county, this is one of the reddest counties in this part of the state. But it was nice to see that not everyone has lost their mind around here.

Glad you're here, and thanks for the report! No lawn signs for Trump around where I live, either. But I HAVE seen a few Hillary yard signs and quite a few bumper stickers.

Driving through a really ritzy part of town - shit - there's a big Clinton/Kaine sign right out in front of one of those elegant homes!
