2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI would not, and will not, give Hillary Clinton any debate advice.
She needs no such presumptuous advice from me or, frankly, anyone else not involved in the actual day-to-day campaign process. She is someone who has proven herself to be eminently qualified to be President. She is someone who has already met with world leaders and negotiated agreements. She has been a U.S. Senator. She has served as Secretary of State. She has participated in many debates, and has sat through 11 hours of hostile questioning by a congressional committee.
Hillary Clinton knows what she is doing tonight. She'll do just fine without my advice, so I'll refrain from offering any. I'll be watching or listening to the debate. She will be the one on stage, not me.

(179,008 posts)She's been down this road a few times before (though not with Trump, of course). I haven't.

(22,651 posts)On the other hand, the Republican had a bad night. His single tweet last evening had to be removed. The answers upset the thin skin.

(151,269 posts)As always. She'll also do fine as President. Probably better than anyone expects.

(151,269 posts)There will be those who hate her, but this debate isn't aimed at them in any way.

What advice could I possibly give Hillary? Probably none and I expect her to win tonight.

(7,570 posts)She's been doing this her whole life, and she has the best prep team in the world behind her. She's got this.
But I assure you that NBC and Lester Holt will do everything they can to help out the assclown.
MineralMan
(151,269 posts)I doubt he can help but do that.

(6,499 posts)And ninth of this cycle.
Frankly, having never debated myself, and knowing the utter weirdness of this particular cycle, I can't imagine providing suggestions. That's what the team she's paying for is doing based on a whole lot more information than 99.99% of us here have.
If I'm going to trust her with the presidency, I can trust her with running her campaign.
