On the "he won the first 20 minutes" meme....

Yes.

If this were baseball, he scored a run in the first inning on his way to a 9-1 loss.

If this were football, he got a field goal on his opening drive on the way to losing 49-3.

If this were golf, he birdied the first hole but finished 10 over par while Hillary parred the first hole and finished 5 under par.

If this were chess, he captured a pawn early on but was checkmated before the 15th move.

If this were boxing, he got a jab in but then was knocked out cold before the 3rd round was over.

If this were NASCAR, he was leading after 10 laps...... but then crashed into the wall.

The fact is, he spent the first 20 minutes sniffing loudly, and make the "who farted?" face.

Once they scratched the surface and got into the give-and-take, think-on-your feet, show us what you've really got part of the debate, he had nothing, and was reduced to lurching incoherently from one disconnected partial sentence to another.

BS - more like it took 20 minutes for Hillary to warm up and kick his butt... He just barely survived the first 20 minutes - he did not win them.

And he thought Trump was strong early.

I would like to see if it's true that the audience fell.

She played him and got him on the ropes bad at about 23-25 minutes in, just when the first groups start changing the channel. She went for him big time, and they stayed to watch it instead.

He didn't trip over his dick the first twenty minutes...then came the question about the small 14 million dollar loan...probably 80 million today...and he fell headfirst into the pit...Trump wounded ego hell.

he did reasonably well, given his lack of experience and expertise, in those first twenty minutes. His responses had some semblance of structure, and he had some talking points that he clearly wanted to reiterate and did. He didn't win those twenty minutes, but he managed to save the really embarrassing stuff for the 80 minutes that came after.

In what way did he "win" the first 20 minutes? He sucked the whole time. I didn't notice any difference.
