1. Why won't people who retire STAY retired?

I admit, I never saw what other people did in Tom Brokaw, and I really, really wish he'd never coined the term "the Greatest Generation", which became overused the minute he spewed it, but I thought that once he retired, he'd go away. No such luck, I guess.

Edited to say: I fully support people who work as long as they want to, I don't necessarily think people need to retire. I like when people are in the same job for a long time. Brokaw just got my hopes up.

2. He's the eminence grise at NBC.

I think he has cancer. They're probably giving him a last shot at involvement in presidential election coverage.

Agreed he's always been highly overrated.
