She sold him rope by the yard!!
I am not the smartest man in the room so it just hit me that it took about 20 minutes for Hillary to realize that Trump really is the caricature he has been made out to be. I mean, we all thought he was, but everyone of us here had the fear that he could hold it together for 90 minutes. I am sure that was a concern for the Clinton campaign. So at first she treated it like a regular debate. When she realized that he was a nervous wreck, was spouting platitudes, and was just winging it she started making some jabs. Like talking about using daddy's money to get his start.
Once a few of them hit home she just sat back and let him show the American people who he really is. This may be the most masterful debate performance I have ever seen. Not because Hillary was on top of her game, although she surely was. But because she was on top of her opponents game. Have a nice evening.

1. She started with small jabs and built them as time went

2. Hillary was skillful.
The whole rhythm and arc of the debate was fascinating
in the moment and Hillary's dominance over Trump is more beautiful to behold with every viewing. Trump was clearly reduced to a quivering rambling bowl of jello. Beautiful. |

3. I was reminded of the line about Ali: "Floats like a butterfly, stings
like a bee."
Trump didn't lay a glove on her. He kept swinging roundhouses that sailed into air and never landed a single punch. By the end, she had him on the ropes and was delivering one vicious combination after another. And all he could do was hope the bell rang before he hit the canvas. it was a thing of monstrous beauty to behold. The surgical precision with which she eviscerated him. |
