There are 182 miles of I-95 in North Carolina. I drive through there many times per year and have stopped spending money there. I will not buy gas, eat there or spend the night. As a person seeking equality for all it's the least I can do to support the opponents of HB2. Here's the math and the money tax on rooms along I-95 is 9%----Fuel 20 gallons at 2 = 40 x 2 ---both ways ---$80 ---lodging $75 x 2 ---$150-----meals 30 x 2 ---60. It all adds up and if the sports world is doing their part, then I must do mine. Don't worry about bathroom breaks, there are rest areas every 50 miles.

(13,340 posts)I had friends who drive from PA to FL this past summer. Before the trip, they emailed the NC tourist board and said (paraphrased): We will not spend a dime in your state. We will not eat there, we will not buy gas there, we will have our car towed to another sate if it breaks down. We will, however, use the bathroom there as much as possible. We intend to leave you with as much shit as possible to remind you how shitty you are to other people. And our apologies to Tarheels who oppose bigotry and hatred.
