A Huge Election Pet Peeve of Mine

I hate it whenever I hear someone in the media saying "Trump looked Presidential." For instance with this debate, they were saying that he looked and acted Presidential during the first half hour. I don't care if he looked and acted Presidential during the whole 90 minutes, being President is a 24/7 job everyday for four years!!! A little blip of acting Presidential, doesn't cut it!!

than substance" culture.

That's what rules TV "journalism" these days--looks and style seem to count for much more than substance. So it makes sense that people in "news slash entertainment" would think the same thing about politics and government.

How low is the bar when all you have to do to "look Presidential" is not insult anyone and glower at the camera.

Command of the facts? Complex understanding of the issues? Not required.

Other than being male, and up until January 20, 2008, being white, there's no real standard.

Statement by Reagan was the sound bite that helped me realize what a clown fest the media is.

What a lame POS that was. And it still gets shown as a great debate moment.

It was pure crap.
