His poll results reflect people's dissatisfaction with the two major party candidates. It's very likely that many who have stated their preference for Johnson will vote for one of the major party candidates in November.

His recent failures to perform are going to leave a lot of those who claim to support him limp, I think.

"I'm having an Aleppo moment..." is not a strong campaign message.

As I recall, William Weld was appointed by President (Bill) Clinton to be ambassador to Mexico. That appointment was torpedoed by conservative Republicans in the Senate.

So why would he want to oppose the Clintons, and in any way help conservative Republicans?

Unless he planned this all from the start: become Libertarian VP, wait until mid or late October, hold a press conference endorsing Hillary.

In which case I'd say the former Massachusetts governor is one steely-eyed missile man for sure.

Trump is stuck at about 41% at the highest.
