Paul Ryan Struggles to Keep Distance from Trump

BuzzFeed: “People close to Ryan said there is an art to crafting the perfect rhetorical response to one of Trump’s eruptions: They must be strongly worded enough for the speaker of the House’s condemnation to be taken seriously — but not so strongly worded that he’s left with no choice but to withdraw his endorsement. Capitol Hill staffers have expressed pity for Ryan’s well-regarded press secretary, AshLee Strong, who is often tasked with drafting and disseminating these statements.”

Said one GOP communications adviser: “I can’t imagine having to do that. It would just be soul-sucking.”

5. Trump & GOP must be crushed to prevent Trump 2.0 in 2020 & to commit GOP to meaningful reform.

No Ryan in 2020. No Ivanka, no Donald J tRump junior. No Pencetration in 2020.

The GOP has to split or it is doomed to wither. Real conservatives who are committed to compromise and the art of politics need to repossess the party or go form their own. The take-no-prisoner loonies and deplorables can make a new rump or Trump or T or Tea party.

You endorsed him. You're the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. You can be that, but not your own man?

Once you endorse, you can't divorce.
