(12,296 posts)It's not really a cliff, Sir, please take control of the narrative and own the discussion rather than buying into the Winger bullshit yet again.
Unless, of course, you kinda mostly agree with pro-corporate conservative policies. Ahem.

(12,296 posts)Just exactly what about them needs to be 'dealt with', Sir? SS doesn't affect the deficit & Medicare/Medicaid is an absolute necessity if we are to continue to call ourselves 'humane'.
The best way to cut the deficit is to give money to THE PEOPLE who will spend it, thus creating demand, tax revenue, and more jobs which create more disposable cash, more demand, and more tax revenue. Ask any intelligent economist: the spiral goes upward.
I am getting that familiar sinking feeling from this man, again.
You don't have to cut benefits. You can stop paying doctors for how many procedures they do and pay them to keep people healthy. Negotiating on drugs cost, etc. But you are right, it would totally be inhumane to cut people's only access to care. But I don't think Obama is inhumane, do you?

What a way to deal with that!
I was fearing he'd answer it and be seen as weak. Brilliant answer President Obama!!

(6,996 posts)The President had ended the presser and was saying thank you when some jerk started yelling at him with a question. Prez told him to get lost.
Filibuster Harry
(666 posts)He is ready. I like the way he defended Ambassador Rice. Take that McCain and Graham.
He is ready for that discussion.
Open to ideas about increase in revenue is good so lets see what loopholes the Rs are willing to give close. We know what the president's rate increases are so tell us Rs what's your specific plan.
