Trump Blows Off Debate Practice Town Hall

“Only days before Donald Trump must face Hillary Clinton in a town-hall style presidential debate, the GOP nominee added just such an event in New Hampshire. It was seemingly a concession to anxious allies and advisers hoping he might hone his skills in what can be a difficult format even for the most dexterous of politicians,” Politico reports.

“While Sunday’s debate will stretch for 90 minutes without a bathroom break, Trump bolted from his town hall in Sandown after barely more than one-third of that time.”

“Trump’s campaign did place a two-minute countdown clock in front of their candidate on Thursday. He repeatedly blew past that time limit anyway.”

Let them get a note from their doctors saying that the plumbing is in working order.

We don't need a demonstration on live TV.

even the 4 yr old gr kids of my friends are learning manners, taking turns, kindness, following rules, thinking of others and their feelings, being polite. DT appears to have been brought up by wolves. What did they do in his childhood home to shape him into this blustering windbag of opinions and no facts, willing to lie, cheat, and steal, and loyalty to NO ONE but his bag of money. And who on earth talks about himself in the 3rd person?

almost all of them revile trump.

and isn't politico a pretty RW site? I know it was started by some wingnut maniac or two

This was not a practice session for Trump or anything even close to that. All extremely softball questions in a closed den of true friendlies? It was a psychological exercise to make Trump feel like a winner again; to build his badly shaken confidence.

Trump is extremely fragile and the small group of people he interacts with keep the emperor's cloths bejeweled and wonderfully fabulous. This was an attempt to put his shattered ego back together before the next debate.

If this were a bull fight, Hillary Clinton stuck the spears in his neck last time, this time she'll go in for the surgical kill with the long sword. A third debate probably won't happen.

hope this person is correct. is it possible that the next four weeks could turn out to be a very satisfying, very entertaining exercise in extreme schadenfreude?

Trump started his campaign by insulting minorities, women, the physically challenged and... oh, you know the list by heart at this point. Just when it seems there's nobody left to offend, Trump insults the entire nation by asking us to deliver unto him the most powerful job on the planet without lifting a finger himself to earn that awesome responsibility.

Why should he prepare for debates when he can BS us the way he's always done? It's not like we're smart enough to tell the difference! This cavalier attitude is a slap in the face to everyone who loves this nation and hopes for a competent leader. Here's hoping he loses by the biggest margin in history.

(again) from earnest people, not his usual rally types.

Yet even without the duress of an opponent, independent moderators and anything but softball questions from supporters, Trump struggled to drive any type of cohesive message, either about himself as a change agent or Clinton’s shortcomings.

Instead, he whacked at CNN’s John King, CNBC’s John Harwood, polling analyst Nate Silver and Republican Sen. Mark Kirk. He digressed about how Hispanics in Nevada would rather be called Latinos. He kept complaining about his microphone at the last debate. ...

And so, after a little more than a half-hour of easy banter and questions (“When you become president can you assure us you will clean house?”), Carr wrapped up by hailing Trump as “the next president.” Then, he wished Trump luck in the next debate.

I just bet he did.

No one is better prepared than Trump.

Winning comes naturally to him...

No matter what happens on Sunday, he'll tell us all that himself.

It's in the bag.
