(34,189 posts)Too bad I may never fly again since I love to fly. My last trip on a plane was in 1990 and was a very unpleasant experience. Too crowded, no service and the flight attendants were basically MIA. With all the TSA crap these days, it is just not worth it, especially with my artificial knees and the stories I have heard about security being obnoxious to people with implants.
I'm taking my first train trip next month and if I enjoy it, I may plan more trips via train. Someday I hope to take a shop to England for an extended trip. But no more flights, not while this country has the insane and useless "security" for flights.

(53,560 posts)I became interest in Air Disaster when my son became an Air Traffic Controller and I've been fascinated ever since.
Like you, I do not intend to ever fly again and not because I am afraid of flying. I can't take the TSA crap as well. It is too invasive, makes a person feel like a criminal. A train trip sounds like a wonderful alternative to me. Can't get me anywhere near an airport anymore.
