(12,011 posts)Either that or, looking at the e-mails in context, he might have meant she is starting to hate the phrase "everyday Americans". Wish he had put quotes around it to make that clear.

(4,490 posts)Of course he didn't assume Russian hackers were going to dig up this specific email and post it online. Still though, the explanation is very straightforward and easy to grasp.

(38,333 posts)I know it's an old saw that, dirty tricks-wise, if you want to know what conservatives are up to, pay attention to what they're accusing the Democrats of.
It's just that somehow I never thought it would apply to the old "get their marching orders from Moscow" thing.

(15,444 posts)Clearly, when read in context, the statement was in reference to the term "everyday Americans". Putin's propagandists think it was clever to remove the quotation marks.
Sorry, Putin, but our grasp of American English is still superior to yours and your minions.

(34,648 posts)I started to worry that she would not connect but, I like the way she handles this maniac. Treats him like a mean child, which is what he is. She is the perfect candidate to run agains him. She brings out the worst in him by simply existing.

(44,585 posts)....reading it in full context, it would appear that Podesta is referring to the phrase "everyday Americans" and it should be used in a speech, even though perhaps Hillary thought it was a hackneyed term. So it's a reference to the phrase, not the actual people.
And that's assuming it's true.
So in other words, it's a big nothing, no matter which way you slice it.

(841 posts)The phrase has been a part of Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign from the beginning. It made its first appearance in her announcement video in April. "Everyday Americans need a champion and I want to be that champion," she said.
